Transcript:
Hello! Jennifer with Tarle speech with your two for Tuesday homophone lesson. Homophones are words that are pronounced exactly the same they just have different meanings and different spellings.
We’re continuing with our little mini series on letters of the alphabet and how you pronounce them. And today our words are G the letter and gee which is an expression of surprise.
So to say these words correctly we have two little sounds. We’re going to start with that J sound J. To say the J sound you’re going to start by touching the back of your top front teeth. Very specifically where your teeth meet the skin on the roof of your mouth. Then you’re going to pull your tongue back into the middle of your mouth. You can see my lips are slightly rounded for this sound. Then you’re going to end with the E by smiling.
And let’s put it all together:
J-e
G Gee G
gee G gee
And now for a sentence:
When the little girl saw the billboard she said Gee that is a big letter G!
