Another question about R vowels:

My bear sounds like beard and beer sounds like beard… haha can you help us?

I get questions like this all the time.  R vowels are so confusing.  I teach several R vowels:  ER, EAR, AIR, OR, and ARE.  There are more but these are the big ones.  Let us look at the words in question.  I think that spelling is leading to pronunciation confusion with these words.

The AIR sound is in bear.

The EAR sound is in beer and beard.

The ER sound is in bird.

You can learn these sounds:  Short er vowels and Movement or Long ER vowels with my practice chapters.  To get started right away, download a list of Long ER Movement vowels now:  WORDS_ IRREGULAR SPELLING R movement
